I am proud to announce that I have accepted the position of assistant basketball coach at the University of North Georgia. I am beyond thrilled for this opportunity to return to the area in which I grew up. Growing up in Gwinnett County and Hall County, Georgia, I never realized the Atlanta area would become such a basketball city. Now, I have the opportunity to recruit and coach at my hometown’s regional university.
It is an exciting time to be at UNG. The university is growing and the sports teams are achieving incredible things. Just last season, UNG basketball tied for 1st in the Peach Belt Conference West Division and head coach Chris Faulkner received Co-Coach of the Year honors. Experienced assistant coach Josh Travis continues to recruit talented student athletes to UNG. The recent addition of head sports performance coach Richard Pruett has helped all student athletes to perform at higher rates than ever before. Having the opportunity to work alongside my brother is a dream come true. Adding onto the programs’ recent successes, UNG will be opening the Convocation Center in early 2018 which will seat over 3,600 fans. This will continue to elevate the university’s athletic department to elite status.
I cannot state enough how thankful I am to spend the last three seasons as an assistant coach with Jeff Burkhamer. He allowed me to begin my career and chase my dream. He is my mentor and close friend that will continue to do amazing things at UWF. The University of West Florida will always stay close to my heart as it has helped me grow academically and athletically. The Strategic Communication and Leadership graduate program is exceptional. Any student looking to further their education at the graduate level needs to consider the program.
I am proud and excited to be a Nighthawk!
